Chapter One: Introducing the Negative and Positive Self
The cornerstone of my work is how you use your brain. You direct your thoughts to your self-image and get responses from that perspective. You have the ability to change your self-image to create one that serves you and represents the Wisdom of the Body. When you do that, it is as though you use your mind, instead of your mind using you.
In this chapter, you will go through a technique that will change your self-image. You will learn habits that make that a natural part of your life. You will also learn an accurate surrender that empowers you to effectively deal with your weaknesses.
Chapter Two: Using the Positive Self to Develop Life Skills
This chapter uses the Positive Self to develop important life skills that serve you in accomplishing your goals. These techniques are:
The Confidence Technique
The Expectations Technique
The Priorities Technique
The Releasing Unexpressed Emotions Technique
The Forgiveness Technique
The Inner Garden Technique
The Reconditioning Your Past Technique
The Meaning of Words Technique
The Sacrifice Technique

Quotes and excerpts:
Every time we think, it is as though we just spoke, but on a very subtle level. It is as though thinking is like talking to your self-image and your response to those thoughts comes from who you are talking to.
The “self-image” is the key to human personality and human behavior. Change the self-image and you change the personality and the behavior.
Maxwell Maltz, author Psycho-Cybernetics
If we are serious about solving our national problems, we need to start with the individual. If enough individuals change, society changes. Imagine if each person participated in society from their Positive Self.
Let me give you a definition of Positive Self and Negative Self. A Positive Self-image is the easiest way to connect to your inner wisdom. It is the part of you that exists in the moment and can meet your challenges with powerful inner resources. A Negative Self-image is the self-image that comes from your past conditioning and only represents the conditioned part of you. It is the part of you that created habits and responds in the moment with those habits, whether appropriate or not.
Once this habit (journal writing) is established, your deepest wisdom can take care of negativity using your Positive Self, whenever this negativity bubbles up. In building this habit, you are creating insurance that if anything goes wrong, your Positive Self can deal with it.
The Confidence technique allows you to find this kindness. You identify with your Positive Self, while still listening to your Negative Self. You will learn that the love and kindness in your own heart is stronger than the negative thoughts in your mind. I have seen that simple realization instantly transform a person’s perspective.
In this chapter, we will discuss how the individual plays an important role in meeting challenges in the areas of health/national health plans, relationships, education, employment, future planning/retirement and preparing for death. First, we need to look at how an individual deals with stress, because whatever challenge you face, reducing stress makes your efforts more effective.
National and global issues:
This book looks at the different classes of people in our country and shows you that at the core of everyone is wisdom. When different groups of people relate to each other with this perspective, our country becomes more unified. For instance, a multi-millionaire and a mentally ill homeless person, though they would express their wisdom differently, can have that quality of wisdom to help them. When education is taught, the Positive Self empowers students to do their best. This affects our nation’s future, for these will be the people that run our government in the future.
Globally, with the different world cultures, one is not better than the other. This may not sound significant, but conscious communication between individuals and nations is an essential part of living in a peaceful world.
Thought Provoking Questions:
- If thinking is what directs your life, how do you assure your thoughts are quality?
- Do you want your life to be solely determined by your past conditioning or determined by inner wisdom?
- Does your past conditioning limit you?
- In your relationships, do the expressions of the heart come from past conditioning or inner wisdom?
- What part of you is the expression of inner wisdom and can you access it at any time?
- Do you know how to consciously condition your subconscious mind?
- What part of you expresses love the best and do you have control of that Part?
- Are you in touch with inner resource in a struggle?
